Ducati has just unveiled the Multistrada V2 - the first of six new or updated models for 2022 that will be revealed by the Italian bike maker between now and December 2021. The Multistrada V2 will replace the Ducati Multistrada 950 and serve as the new entry-point to Ducati's adventure-sport range of bikes.

Like the bigger Ducati Multistrada V4, the Multistrada V2 retains the silhouette of the older model but gets a more tapered-looking headlight cowl and smoother side panel fairing for improved aerodynamics and engine heat dissipation.

The Multistrada V2 is powered by Ducati's 937cc Testastretta 11-degree V2 unit, which currently powers the Ducati Panigale V2 and the recently-released-in-India new-gen Ducati Monster. Power output remains unchanged at 113PS @ 9,000rpm with max torque at 94Nm @ 7,750rpm. The V2 engine is also said to mimic the larger V4 in terms of being configured to be reliable and strong, with its extended maintenance intervals that comprise an oil change every 15,000 km and valve clearance check every 30,000 km.

The Multistrada V2 also gets an updated gearbox, a 19-inch front/17-inch rear alloy wheels and has shed 5kg off its weight courtesy of some re-designed internal components and even some new rims.

In terms of features and riding aids, the V2 gets a lot of gear from the bigger sibling, the Multistrada V4 - including Vehicle Hold Control, Traction Control and four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro). The Ducati Multistrada V2 will be available in two levels of trim - standard and S - with the S getting the works, which includes electronically adjustable suspension, cruise control, a bi-directional quick shifter, full-LED headlight with cornering lights, and a high-resolution TFT dash.

The Ducati Multistrada V2 is expected to go on sale in in markets abroad, November 2021. Though it's not clear as to when this Ducati will make its way over to India, when it does, it will go up against the Triumph Tiger 900.
