2021 Mahindra XUV700 prices revealed, base MX petrol to start from Rs 11.99 lakh

After the global debut of the 2021 Mahindra XUV700, prices for three of the four variants of the new SUV have now been revealed. The base Mahindra XUV700 MX petrol is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh while the more premium XUV700 AX range prices start at Rs 13.99 lakh for the petrol manual AX3 and the AX5 petrol manual costs Rs 14.99 lakh.

MX diesel 5 seater - Rs 12.49 lakh

The base MX variant of the Mahindra XUV700 can only be had with the 2.0-litre mStallion petrol with 200PS and 380 Nm or with a detuned version of the 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel making 155PS and 360 Nm. Both engines come paired with only a five-speed manual gearbox and there is no option to specify AWD.

Feature highlights of the XUV700 MX are an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with only Android Auto, a 7-inch instrument cluster, steering mounted controls, powered outer mirrors with turn indicators, smart door handles, LEd taillamps and 17-inch steel wheels.

AX3 petrol manual 5 seater - Rs 13.99 lakh
AX5 petrol manual 5 seater  - Rs 14.99 lakh

The diesel in the Mahindra XUV700 AX variants puts out 185PS and makes 420 Nm with the 6-speed manual and 450 Nm with the 6-speed automatic. The petrol motor makes 200PS and 380 Nm paired with both gearboxes. The petrol doesn't get drive modes, which are reserved for the diesel while AWD can be optioned separately.

The XUV700's AX3 trim starts with the twin 10.25-inch screens with wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, the AdrenoX suite of over 60 connected-car features, Alexa integration for voice commands, six speakers, LED DRLs, front fog lamps and 17-inch steel wheels. The next AX5 trim comes with the panoramic sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, curtain airbags, LED headlamps, sequential turn indicators and cornering lamps. The 12-speaker Sony sound system, flush door handles, 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, electronic parking brake and wireless charging will be available at added cost on the AX via a series of option packs which will be revealed at a later date.

The Mahindra XUV700 is based on a new W601 monocoque architecture and measures 4,695mm in length, 1,890mm in width and 1,755 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2,750mm. Unlike its rivals, the XUV700 sits on independent suspension front and back with frequency selective damping as well as torque-vectoring by braking. There are disc brakes all around and two wheel sizes, 235/60 R18 and 235/65 R17.

The XUV700 competes with the likes of the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and the MG Hector Plus. The XUV700 is expected to launch in India by next month with bookings to begin shortly
