2013 Shanghai Auto Show: Nissan Friend-Me
The Nissan Friend-Me concept has a weird name and equally so exteriors. It was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show 2013 and is targeted at the Chinese youth in their mid-twenties. There is too much of detail with some vent openings and lines looking like they were penned by someone equally funky. Inside, via the 'oracle stone', peers can interact with each other. This helps with the fact that the driver and passengers can get access to the ability and information to change the settings of the car according to personal preference with the help of a screen in front of them. Just like the theme for the Indian Evalia, "Moves like music", the Friend-Me, Nissan says is the "music dictator".
Designed for a specific market, China that is, the Friend-Me has been conceptualised by Nissan Design China for approximately 240 million buyers. That's a huge number by any measurements and Nissan says that the Friend-Me is just the beginning and could spawn many other variants. No word yet on the engines or probable date of launch or the all important question ' is it coming to India'?
