Volkswagen announces Tiguan Match for the UK market

Volkswagen has announced the Tiguan Match compact SUV for the UK market. The Match, which costs GBP 450 less than the Tiguan SE it replaces, but comes with GBP 700-worth of extra equipment, enhancing value for money.

Add-ons on the Match include the RNS 315 colour touchscreen satellite navigation system and new 17-inch 'New Orleans' alloys. It also gets a fully prepped entertainment system. A multifunction leather steering wheel enables a number of operations without taking hands off the wheel.

The Tiguan Match is available as a two-wheel or four-wheel drive, just like it is also available in both petrol and diesel options

The car also gets a dual-zone climate control system. This means that the driver and passenger sides get separate climate controls to keep the temperature just right on either side of the cabin. The back of the front seats come fitted with picnic tables to cater to passengers on the rear seats. The rear seats fold in a 60:40 ratio and get the standard Volkswagen ISOFIX child seat fittings. The Match gets parking sensors (both front and rear) to go with Volkswagen's innovative Park Assist self-parking system, that "takes control of the steering wheel to either reverse- or parallel-park the Tiguan into spaces just 1.1 m longer than the vehicle."

The Tiguan Match is available as a two-wheel or four-wheel drive, just like it is also available in both petrol and diesel options. The choices are wide, starting with a 2WD 1.4-litre TSI 160 PS petrol starting at GBP 23,245 on-road to a 4WD 2.0-litre TDI 177 PS Turbodiesel costing GBP 28,740 on-road.

Volkswagen retailers have started taking orders for the Match, with the first cars arriving in September.
