Upcoming Volkswagen T-Roc SUV spotted testing in India
Skoda and Volkswagen will showcase some there first efforts of the India 2.0 campaign at the upcoming 2020 Auto Expo. One of these will be the Volkswagen T-Roc SUV you see here. The small SUV has been spotted testing here and seem to closely follow the international-spec vehicle's looks.

The T-Roc sits below the Tiguan in the brand's SUV line-up and has a more outward design theme to it. You have a new face with the larger grille, large air dam, wider lamps. This is followed by the more prominent lines all-around. The T-Roc also has a more flowing roof-line to it compared to say the Tiguan. The rear too has a new layered look to it. This is also the first VW SUV to come with two-tone paintwork as an option The SUV's are reminiscent of other VWs but with a sharper edge to it thanks to the slimmer vents and a dashboard that is placed at an angle away from the driver. Expect the Indian-version to come with features like a virtual cockpit instrument cluster, wireless charging, a 10-inch infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, a panoramic sunroof and so on.
Internationally the T-Roc is available with three petrol and one diesel engine. The base engine is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol with 115PS, a 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol with 190PS. The diesel is a 2.0-litre unit with 50PS or 197PS. These can be had with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch auto. AWD is optional. We think the India-spec car will get the 1.5-litre petrol.
The T-Roc is based on the MQB platform and will compete against cars like the Jeep Compass and Kia Seltos with prices expected to be around Rs 25 lakh.
