Tata Harrier Facelift: Old vs New

Tata Motors has unveiled the 2023 Harrier facelift, which has a considerably more stylish look, a redesigned cabin, and a slew of premium amenities. The Tata Harrier has found a home in many Indian households and has been a popular face around Indian roads. Let's take a deeper look at what has changed between the Harrier and its predecessor.

Tata Harrier facelift: Exterior

The Harrier, like its younger sister Nexon, has seen considerable alterations to its front and back appearances. It retains the split headlight configuration but with sleeker and vertical bumper-mounted housing. In addition, the grille and a bigger air intake on the bumper have horizontal inserts. The daytime running lights are now linked, and the turn indicators have a logical pattern.

The sheet metal in the side profile has not been altered much. The wheel designs, on the other hand, are new and bigger at 19 inches, and there is a 'Harrier' badge on the front door.

The facelifted Harrier now has a new set of linked LED tail lights with a sharper pattern at the back. A revised rear bumper design completes the Harrier's overall design improvements. The updated Harrier is available in seven paint options, namely Pebble Grey, Coral Red, Sunlit Yellow, Lunar White, Oberon Black, Ash Grey, and Seaweed Green. In addition, Tata also offers it with the Dark Edition version.

Tata Harrier facelift: Interior and Features

The Harrier makeover is available in Pure, Adventure, Smart, Fearless, and Dark variants. According to these designations, the interior motif and seat upholstery differ.

Inside, the Harrier receives dual-zone climate control, a redesigned dashboard and centre console, a new steering wheel, a 10-speaker JBL sound system, a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, a Range Rover-inspired gear selector, a 45W USB port, rear window sunblinds, and comfort headrests.

Tata has given it 11 features of the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), along with a knee airbag, Alexa compatibility, gesture control for the boot opening, advanced ESP with 17 functions, a 360-deg camera, powered front seats, ventilated seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), terrain modes, auto-dimming interior rearview mirror (IRVM), four-wheel disc brakes, a wireless charging pad, telematics, front parking sensors, and OTA updates, among others.

Tata Harrier facelift: Powertrain

There have been no changes to the Harrier's original 170PS and 350Nm of torque 2-litre diesel engine, which is paired with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. One alteration in the facelifted Harrier is the addition of paddle shifters for a more engaging driving experience.

The new Harrier facelift is likely to be launched in the coming weeks, with new pricing expected to start at Rs 15.50-16 lakh and go up to Rs 25-26 lakh. In comparison, the previous model was priced between Rs 15.20 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 24.27 lakh (ex-showroom).

It will compete with the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 5-seater, and Jeep Compass. Aside from that, it will compete with the Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, and all other mid-size SUVs.
