Royal Enfield ridden by 58 Indian Army men in Bengaluru breaks World Record

Royal Enfield has been in news for its all-new Interceptor and Continental GT 650 Twins that was first shown to the international audience at EICMA and then a few days ago at the 2017 Rider Mania in Goa. And now the Chennai based motorcycle brand is in news again. A 58-member motorcycle team of the Army Service Corps (ASC) rode a Royal Enfield 500 for a distance of 1.2km at the Air Force Station Yelahanka, setting a World Record.

The record was previously held by the Army Signal Corps (Daredevils) from the Indian Army wherein 56 men rode a Royal Enfield motorcycle in 2010. The team that broke the record in Bengaluru, called the Tornadoes, was led by Major Bunny Sharma. And taking charge of the motorcycle with 58 men mounted on it was Subedar Rampal Yadav. This is not the first time that team Tornadoes has attempted something like this Founded in 1982 by Colonel C N Rao and Captain J P Verma, the brave team holds 19 world and national records. The team made its debut at the 9th Asian Games in New Delhi in 1982 and consists of 39 members with two officers, two JCOs and 35 junior ranks.
