Rally driver Ken Block dies in a snowmobile accident

Professional rally driver and Hoonigan co-founder Ken Block, aged 55, has died in a snowmobile accident. Hoonigan Racing confirmed the news of his demise on Monday. The accident occurred in Wasatch County in Utah where Ken was riding the snowmobile on a steep slope when it upended and landed on top of him, said the Sheriff's office.

In an issued statement on Instagram, Hoonigan said, "It's our deepest regrets that we can confirm Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today." "Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly a father and a husband," it further added.

Ken Block began his rallying career in 2005 and was awarded Rookie of the Year in the Rally America National Championship. He competed in numerous rally championships, including World Racing Championship and X Games.

The rally driver produced a Gymkhana video series on YouTube. He performed various stunts in rally cars, including the Subaru Impreza, Ford Fiesta, and Ford Mustang, and the videos went viral, attracting millions of views. He recently collaborated with Audi and drove its all-electric S1 Hoonitron in the streets of Las Vegas. Further, Ken Block co-founded DC Shoes - an American sportswear brand.
