Previous-gen Honda City to be sold in two variants, at reduced prices

Honda has re-aligned prices for the fourth-gen City, which will continue to be sold in two variants, alongside the fifth-gen car launched in July. Available only with a 1.5-litre SOHC petrol engine, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, the SV and V variants of the fourth-gen City are priced at Rs 9.30 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively. This represents a significant price reduction on these model's previous ex-showroom prices, which were priced at Rs 9.91 lakh and Rs 10.66 lakh respectively.

With the re-alignment of prices, the price gap from the fourth-gen City's current SV base variant to the fifth-gen City's V variant grows to Rs 1.7 lakh, while a direct variant-to-variant comparison reveals a price differential of Rs 99,990. The fourth-gen City SV variant packs in 15-inch alloy wheels, a 3.5-inch LCD infotainment display with AUX/Bluetooth, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, keyless entry, manually height-adjustable driver's seat, and two airbags. The V variant for the old City adds to the list with ORVM integrated turn signal indicators, chrome door handles, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment (Digipad) with smartphone integration, push button start, multi-view rear camera and cruise control. For reference, the base V variant on the fifth-gen City gets 15-inch alloy wheels, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, tilt and reach adjustable steering, four airbags and traction control to name a few.
