New Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza: All you need to know

The new Vitara Brezza comes with plenty of changes and it houses a new engine which is BSVI compliant. The car was a success when it was launched in 2016, so much that it crossed a five lakh sales unit and made it the highest-selling SUV.  The new BSVI Vitara Brezza's exterior changes include a new front bumper and it has larger air dam cutouts, floating roof design,  dual-function projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED taillamp, a new set of steel wheels(16-inches) and three new dual-tone colour options.

The interior changes include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, passenger sun visor, centre console with cup holder, door ajar warning lamp, 7-step illumination control, Maruti's Smart Play Studio infotainment, auto-dim IRVM (inside rearview mirror), auto-folding OVRMs and features like automatic headlamps, electronic power steering, tailgate open system, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, cooled glovebox to name a few. In terms of safety, the car comes with anti-theft security system, ABS with EBD, dual airbags for driver and passenger, engine immobilizer, reverse parking sensor with infographic display, central locking, security alarm, pedal release system and childproof rear door locks to name a few. There is also a sport and urban-themed cosmetic accessories on offer.

The biggest change is the K15B 1.5 litre BS6 compliant petrol power plant, which makes 105PS and 138Nm of torque. It comes mated with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic (with torque converter) transmission. It also offers cruise control and the automatic variants come with Maruti's mild-hybrid system with start-stop and hill hold feature. The car weighs around 1600kg and has a 48-litre tank.  The claimed fuel efficiency of the manual is 17.03kmpl and AT (automatic with Maruti's smart hybrid) 18.76kmpl.

There are seven variants to choose from and the lowest variant is priced at Rs. 7,34,000 (ex-showroom) and the top-end ZXi+ (AT) is Rs. 114, 000. It takes on the likes of Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV, Ford Ecosport and Hyundai Venue to name a few.
