New 2014 Hyundai Elantra unveiled in South Korea, gets a minor facelift

Hyundai has officially given a peek into its 2014 Elantra. Called the Avante in South Korea, it is basically the current Elantra with a minor facelift.

The front bumper has been extended by 5mm and the rear by 15mm. This has increased the length of the car to 4550mm. Other external changes include refreshed front bumper, radiator grille, fog lamps, rear bumper and 17" dual-tone alloys. Aesthetic additions are the projection headlamps, LED daytime running lights and rear combination lamps with partial LED unit.

On the inside; Hyundai claims ventilated seats, flex steer, Smart Parking Assist System (SPAS) and a 3.5-inch OLED display. The central air con unit and the front center armrest have also been repositioned.

Pop the hood, and the Elantra shows off a 1.6-litre diesel engine that churns out 126PS and 279Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and Stop/Go Technology. The petrol engine comes from the 2013 Elantra.

We expect the new Elantra in India in 2014.
