MG Motor India registers a growth of 99.6 percent in sales for May 2022

MG Motor India reported today that has sold 4,008 units in May 2022, representing a 99.6 percent increase over April 2022.

As per MG, this growth in sales numbers indicates that chip supply is improving, and the automaker expects the situation to improve much more in the coming months.

In May 2021, MG Motor India sold only a mere 1016 vehicles and in April 2022 completed the sales of 2008 vehicles. In Comparison, MG had an excellent May 2022 by garnering a growth of 294.5 percent and 99.6 percent, respectively.

Although production is still hindered by the global COVID-19 lockout, demand remains robust as MG maintains a good booking rate and experiences growing momentum. The brand is keeping a close eye on the situation created by worldwide COVID lockdowns and is coordinating its efforts to remedy it.

MG Motors India, which started selling its vehicles in India with the launch of the MG Hector SUV in June 2019, currently has a portfolio including the MG ZS EV, MG Gloster and the mid-size SUV, the MG Astor.

At present, the company has a manufacturing facility at Halol in Gujarat with an annual production capacity of 80,000 vehicles and employs nearly 2,500 workers.
