Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance launch on 11 Apr; What to expect?

Mercedes-Benz has set the stage to launch the AMG GT 63 S E Performance in India on 11 April, 2023. Not only is it the first performance hybrid model from Mercedes-AMG, but it is also the most potent AMG ever made. It embodies practicality with the blend of the V8 hybrid powertrain and the capability to accommodate up to five passengers. Here we tell you everything that the AMG GT 63 S E Performance brings to the table.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 S E Performance: Powertrain
Powering the AMG GT 63 S E Performance is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine paired with an electric motor. This electric motor supplies the power to the rear axle. The system comes mated to an AMG Speedshift MCT 9G automatic transmission.

While the engine produces 639PS and 900Nm of torque, the motor can generate 204PS and 320Nm. The engine and motor together deliver a staggering 843PS and a peak torque of 1,470Nm. As a result, the saloon can achieve 100kmph in just 2.9 seconds, whereas 0-200kmph takes less than 10 seconds. It provides a top speed of 316kmph.

The AMG GT 63 S E Performance is equipped with a 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system that offers fully variable torque distribution and even a drift mode. Notably, Mercedes has fitted it with a 6.1kWh battery pack, delivering 70kW output. With this, one can drive the AMG GT 63 S E Performance in an EV-only model for up to 12km. In this mode, the car tops out at 130kmph.

The cockpit has a premium Nappa leather trim - available in a variety of shades. It also gets a new twin-spoke AMG steering wheel with round buttons.
