Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG Vs Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG: What's different?

Maruti Suzuki quite easily has the most extensive CNG portfolio in the Indian market. And now that Maruti Suzuki has extended its CNG range to its Nexa brand, the question arises as to which hatchback should one opt for, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG or Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG. Let's take a look at how these 2 hatchbacks are different from each other.

Both cars are identical under the hood with the same 1.2-litre K-series petrol motor as the petrol-powered car. In the CNG mode, this puts out 77PS and 99 Nm. Both cars are also strictly offered in a 5-speed manual.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG can be had in the LXI and VXi variants. The features list remains the same as the petrol model with highlights like an updated 4.2-inch colour TFT MID between the analogue instrumentation, and key-synchronised auto-fold ORVMs, apart from front fog lamps, a 7-inch Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, 6 speakers, Push button start and auto climate control.

Only the mid-spec Delta and Zeta trims of the Baleno come with the factory-installed CNG kit from Maruti. With features like LED projector headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, a 7.0-inch infotainment system with SmartPlay Pro+ system, voice recognition, connected car technology with OTA updates, a start/stop button, six airbags, and a rearview camera, the Baleno CNG in its Zeta trim is still fairly well-equipped.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG starts from Rs 7.77 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.45 lakh while the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG starts from Rs Rs 8.28 lakh, going up to Rs 9.21 lakh.
