Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Vs Maruti Suzuki S-Presso: What's different?

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto is here and with prices starting from just Rs 3.99 lakh, it will be the entry point into Maruti Suzuki's whole line-up of cars. One of the closest competitors to the new Alto K10 (maybe not directly) will be its very own sibling, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. Yes, the S-Presso is a little bigger and just that little more premium, the price difference is very marginal as the S-Presso starts at Rs 4.25 lakh. Let's see how these 2 cars weigh up against each other.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Vs Maruti Suzuki S-Presso: Design and Deimisoins

While the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is bigger than the Alto K10 in every aspect, both cars actually have the exact same wheelbase.

The Alto K10 now carries a more SUV-themed look, much like the Alto 800 that remains untouched. The front is dominated by a large grille while the halogen headlamps have moved higher and become wider. There are six colour options.

The high stance gives the S-Presso very boxy proportions. While the flat bumper with lots of horizontal cuts adds some muscle to the front end, the headlights appear basic and the 'SUV-inspired' grille simply looks odd. All in all, the S-Presso doesn't look as striking as its younger sibling.

Other than their wheelbase, the 2 cars also share the same engine. The motor is the 1.0-litre K10C Dual Jet petrol which puts out 67PS and 89 Nm and pairs with a five-speed manual or AMT.

While the Alto K10 has a claimed mileage of 24.9 kmpl, the S-Presso has a fuel efficiency of 25.30 kmpl for the AMT versions and up to 24.76kmpl for the manual variants.
