Marc Llistosella to be the new head of Daimler Trucks Asia

In a major reshuffle of top management, Albert Kirchmann, currently the head of Daimler Trucks Asia, will soon become chairman of Daimler Trucks Asia as of April 1, 2015. In this position, his new role will see him support and act as consultant for the company's strategic development and will continue to represent Daimler on the political level as well as in industry associations in Japan. Kirchmann has held various positions in the areas of planning, controlling, and strategy since 1984. He has been the heading Daimler Trucks Asia since June 2009.

Under his leadership, our Asia business has successfully grown together under the roof of Daimler Trucks Asia", Wolfgang Bernhard, member of the Daimler board of management with responsibility for Daimler Trucks and Buses, said.

Head of marketing, sales and after-sales, Trucks Asia and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), Marc Llistosella will soon be the new head of Daimler Trucks Asia (Fuso and BharatBenz) on April 1, 2015. He will then directly report to Wolfgang Bernhard.

"Within a very short time, Marc Llistosella has firmly established the BharatBenz brand in the Indian commercial vehicle industry. Developing a tailored product portfolio, he proved that he understands the customers' demands very well", Dr Bernhard said. "I am convinced Marc Llistosella will manage the continuity and sustainability of our achievements and has the ability to set new initiatives in times of new challenges with his profound Asia know-how", he further added.

From their pitch, everyone seems very strongly about Llistosella and for good reason as he has been leading DICV right from a planning phase as a Greenfield Project. He built the organisation, the plant and led the development of a whole new product range under the brand BharatBenz for the Indian market as well as Fuso trucks for markets in Asia and Africa. His leadership has seen the company become a fully established player in the Indian CV market.

Managing director of Trucks at Mercedes-Benz UK, Michael Kamper will soon be the new head of marketing, sales and customer services, Trucks Asia as of March 1, 2015. Kamper has been in the company since 1995 and has held various positions in international sales and customer experience.

Daimler AG owns hundred per cent of its subsidiary Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DICV), which together with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), comprises Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA). The said management changes are to take effect in March and April next year. However the changes have been decided by the Board of Management, Daimler AG, and are subject to approval by the board of directors and the shareholder's meeting of MFTBC.
