Lamborghini Urus S launched; prices start at Rs 4.18 crore

After launching the Urus Performante in India, Italian marque Lamborghini has launched the new Urus S in India with prices starting at Rs 4.18 crore (ex-showroom). With its laid-back approach, the Urus S embodies comfort over the track-oriented and sporty character of the Urus Performante. However, the Urus S does not compromise on performance as it generates the same power output as the Urus Performante.

Lamborghini Urus S: Engine, Power Output, and Acceleration
Powering the Urus S is a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, V8 petrol engine producing 666PS and 850 Nm of torque. Not only do the power and torque figures match the Urus Performante but this engine also makes an additional 16PS than the previous Urus. This potent eight-pot is married to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, the Urus S features an all-wheel drive system, which can send power to all four wheels. It also features an active centre and rear differentials.

With this, the Urus S can achieve zero to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds, which is a mere 0.2 seconds slower than the lighter Urus Performante. On the other hand, it can sprint to 200kmph from a standstill in just 12.5 seconds. The Urus performante achieves the same 200kmph run in 11.5 seconds, which is a second quicker than the Urus S. Meanwhile, the top speed of the S is electronically capped at 305kmph.

Lamborghini Urus S: Equipment and Features
The major difference between the S and Performante is the suspension setup as the Urus S carries forward the same air suspension system as its predecessor, whereas Urus Performante sports a new stiffer and lowered coil spring setup. With this suspension system, the Urus S also retains three off-road modes: Sabbia, Neve, and Terra, along with three driving modes: Strada, Sport, and Corsa. These modes can adjust response from the steering, engine, suspension, rear differential, gearbox, and even the anti-roll bar system.

Lamborghini Urus S: Design
The design of the Urus S draws inspiration from the sporty Urus Performante. It features a new and aggressive front bumper identical to the Performante. Additionally, it features a new bonnet with air vents, however, it is not made from carbon fibre like the Performante. The firm has also given it a new rear bumper and quad-exhaust pipes. The Urus S can opt for distinctive wheel sizes, such as 21, 22, and 23-inches. Not to mention, there are numerous customisation options available to personalise a unique Urus S.
