Jeep Compass Limited BSVI diesel automatic spotted testing
With the launch of the Jeep Compass Trailhawk, Jeep India debuted the BSVI iteration of its 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine, paired with a new 9-speed automatic gearbox. These pictures now tell us that the company is following a top-down approach with this powertrain, lesser trims will also provide this option.
The car in question is the Limited trim level of the Jeep Compass. The images also clearly show the shifter for the new gearbox. The BSVI version of the 2.0-litre diesel motor makes 172PS and 350Nm. The gearbox is an imported unit built in the US. The only real change in terms of maintenance for owners will be topping up the 13-litre AdBlue urea additive tank every 7,000-10,000km.
The Limited trim sits below the Trailhawk and Limited Plus trims in Jeep's line-up. Notable features available in this variant are keyless entry, push-button start, dual-zone AC, a 7.0-inch UConnect infotainment system, LED tail lamps, a reversing camera and contrasting leather upholstery. The Limited option pack adds bi-Xenon headlamps and a dual-tone paint scheme.
Prices for the Limited diesel trim currently start at Rs 19.73 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. Expect at least a Rs 2 lakh hike for the new BSVI diesel and auto combination.
