The all new Beetle is based on the Jetta's PQ35 platform and comes with a new engine for India, the 150PS version of the 1.4-litre TSI petrol found in the Jetta. We found the new Beetle was not just cheerful but also quite practical and capable. You can read more about it in our road test or scroll down for some images.
It may be all new but the Beetle still has a very identifiable design

The panoramic sunroof opens half way which should hopefully prevent people from sticking their heads out of it
Keyless entry is a welcome feature
The bright body coloured dashboard makes for a very cheerful cabin
Crisp touchscreen unit accepts AUX and USB input
Push button start complements a fuel saving start-stop feature
Dual zone climate control is another premium feature
The 7-speed dual clutch automatic comes with paddle shifters. Cruise control is also standard
Auto headlamps are offered as standard
Rolling-type seat recliner is slow and tedious to use
Chrome mirror caps are very shiny and look out of place
1.4-TSI petrol is smooth and powerful. It can be quite efficient with a light right foot
310-litre boot is large and usable. A space saver resides beneath
The 16-inch wheels are wrapped with generously profiled Hankook tyres. We'd like to think the flowers are just for the Beetle!
