The updated 3 Series for India now comes with the M Sport trim, which gets you this racy shade called the Estoril Blue

In a passing glance, the cosmetic changes of the 3 Series are hard to notice until you look into the details

The headlights now get an all-LED treatment across the range. Also onboard are redesigned daytime running lights

Like the Sport Line, the M Sport trim also gets an eight-slat grille

The M Sport trim adds the 'M' badges to the wheels and flanks

The tail lights get a revised detailing with a kink in the horizontal elements, compared to the straighter lines of the outgoing model

The highlight of the M Sport package is the set of 18-inch rims. The discs looks puny though

Revised bumpers add a sportier appeal

The removable cupholders, fore of the gear selector, have been replaced with new cubby holes that get a sliding cover on them

...and new oyster brown upholstery

The 2016 update also gives the 3 Series a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine
