Ford's all new Figo hatchback has been launched at a starting price of Rs 4.30 lakh, ex-Delhi.  It's based on an all-new platform that also underpins the Aspire sedan. The new Ford Figo boasts many segment firsts including an advanced technological interface and six airbags on the top trims. For a budget hatchback, it also gets the most powerful engines in its class along with dual clutch transmission. This second-gen hatchback is also priced competitively, at nearly Rs 30-40,000 less than the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Maruti Suzuki Swift. Scroll down to take a look at the images from the photo shoot accompanying our drive in the new Ford Figo.

The Aston Martin-like grille suits the Aspire sedan a lot better than the hatchback

Right until the C-pillar, you can spot the Figo hatch's resemblance with its sedan sibling

A stubby boot and wraparound lamps dominate the rear

The Ford Figo hatchback has trendy looking alloy wheels. The petrol automatic here wears MRF ZVTS tyres while the diesel gets Apollo Amazer 3G Maxx rubber

See the key hole below the Blue Oval? Yep, a keyless boot release is missing. . . What can we say? The new-gen Hyundais have spoilt us

The interiors are similar to the Aspire sedan. The automatic trim doesn't get Sync but is equipped with Ford MyDock

The instrument cluster is detailed and has distance-to-empty and real-time fuel efficiency indicators. This here is the instrument console for the automatic, which also gets a gear indicator

The Ford MyDock can hold phones with screens that are upto 5.2 inches wide. On the back is a slot for a charger and a USB port

The new Ford Figo remains rather stable on the highways despite its compact dimensions

The Figo gets automatic climate control and the Sync feature in the higher trims of the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel variants

Rear seat space is decent, however, three grown-ups can be a squeeze

257 litres of boot space is lower than the outgoing model's, however, it can still hold four or five bags like the one you see here
