Hyundai Creta SUV E+ and EX variants get 1.6-litre diesel option
Hyundai India has updated the popular Hyundai Creta SUV's variant mix. The base E+ and EX variants can now be had with the more powerful 1.6-litre diesel engine. Prices for these new trims are not available at the moment. Also, the mid-spec S trim can only be had with a manual gearbox and the smaller 1.4-litre diesel now.
The Creta is available with three engine options. These are the 1.4 diesel (90PS, 220 Nm), 1.6 diesel (128PS, 260Nm) and 1.6 petrol (123PS, 151Nm). These are mated to the 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The petrol variant can be had with the auto box in only the SX variant. No automatic is available with the 1.4 diesel. The larger diesel motor can be paired with the automatic in the S and SX trims.
Notable features in the base E+ spec are 16-inch steel wheels, a body-coloured rear garnish, follow-me-home lamps, halogen headlamps, a front armrest, rear AC vent, an electric boot release button, tilt adjustment for the power steering, height-adjustable driver's seat and power windows. The EX variant adds fog lamps, LED DRLs, adjustable instrument cluster lighting, a USB charger, rear headrests, a five-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, and steering mounted control. Safety features available on these trims are dual airbags, ABD, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminder, speed warnings and a speed sensing door-lock mechanism.
Prices of the Hyundai Creta start at Rs 9.99 lakh for the base petrol and go up to Rs 15.66 lakh for the top diesel.
