OVERDRIVE's February 2019 issue is now on stands!
It's hard to believe that it's almost February already. And with this issue, we've kept up with the frantic time that is 2019. We've got a bunch of new cars and bikes and some stunning coverage from this year's Dakar.
The Fortuner has been the go to hardcore SUV for people who want ruggedness and presence but now the Mahindra Alturas G4 is a serious claimant to the fortuner's crown. We pit the two against each other to see if the Alturas G4 has the chops. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga too is similarly dominant in the MPV space but another Mahindra, this time the Marazzo, seems to cater to families who have outgrown the Ertiga and find the Innova to be too big a step up. We see if the Marazzo justifies the additional size and outlay.
If this doesn't satiate your thirst for cars, we have the new generation Toyota Camry Hybrid too. It looks sharper now and we see if it drives like it looks. Then there's the F-Pace, an SUV that is more Jaguar than SUV. And now with a new 2.0 litre petrol that cements its position as an enthusiast's SUV. We also the drove the artful and immensely capable Mercedes-Benz CLS and took the surprisingly adept new Honda CR-V on a 2,000 km road trip to see an INRC round in Chikmagalur.
Bike lovers have no reason to feel left out though. We rode the new Triumph Speed Twin in Mallorca and came away impressed with its breadth of ability. We also spent some time with the FB Mondial HPS 300, which looks like it could have come from one place only, Italy and the new KTM Duke 125. A true Duke condensed into a smaller, more affordable package.
But the highlight for this month is definitely our coverage of the Dakar 2019. We followed Hero Motosports Team Rally through their campaign this year and have first-hand witnessed the immense test of skill and character, that is this event.
