Daimler India Commercial Vehicles reaches the 20,000 mark for trucks produced at it’s Oragadam plant

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DICV) just rolled out the twenty thousandth truck at its plant at Oragadam. It has been close to two and a half years since the production of the first BharatBenz heavy-duty trucks started in 2012. The company claims that half of the said production has happened in the year 2014 itself - hinting at recent growth trends.

"By crossing the production mark of 20,000 trucks, we achieved the next milestone of our DICV success story", stated Erich Nesselhauf, CEO and managing director, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles. The company attributes the high acceptance rate in the market is to the quality of its product offerings and after-sales service. "20,000 trucks made at the Oragadam plant according to our Daimler top quality standards is something that our production team can rightly be proud of", added Sven Graeble, head of operations and manufacturing engineering, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles.

The DICV plant in Oragadam produces trucks and engines for three brands - BharatBenz, FUSO and Mercedes-Benz.
