Coronavirus impact: Mercedes-Benz offers digital services post lockdown

Mercedes-Benz launches the 'Merc from home' campaign that hosts an array of features to help customers enjoy the privilege of booking a car and accessing other facilities while being at home. The campaign aims to protect customers, visitors and employees while resuming services after the COVID-19 caused lockdown is lifted.

A potential customer can head to the 'www.shop.mercedes-benz.co.in' to purchase a new car or to book other services. The site was responsible for selling used cars, but now it has been expanded to cater to new requirements.

The campaign allows a customer to book their Mercedes-Benz online and it also has the provision to host live consultation regarding the product and other services. This helps the customer to clarify all the queries while being at home. It also offers financial help and other value-added services.

The live consultation chat rooms will be operational after 4th May and one can access this facility from 10 am to 12 am at midnight. This has created a very easy process for the customers to enjoy browsing and even get a Mercedes-Benz delivered at your doorstep without taking any risk of stepping out and visiting a dealership. The campaign also pays attention to taking protective measures during test drives and delivery of the car.

Martin Schwenk, MD & CEO at Mercedes-Benz India, said, "Digital platforms have become an important channel to stay connected with our customers. Towards this, we are launching our 'Merc from Home' campaign that aims at providing a holistic, hassle-free and highly personalized car buying experience on our online sales platform. 'Merc from Home' also features new initiatives like 'Mercedes-Benz Consultation Studio', a virtual consultation mode that is going to enhance the personalized experience for the customers. The customers now can not only explore, select and make online payment for our products and services from the comfort of their homes, but can also get their Three Pointed Star delivered right at their doorsteps, as per their convenience."

He added, "With 'Merc from Home' we keep the emotional experience of buying a car through high level of customized demonstrations while maintaining minimum physical interactions. With our increased efforts towards digitizing our sales and service processes and offering online platforms, we are making the concept of home delivering a Mercedes, a reality. With these initiatives, we are confident that an increasing part of our sales volumes will be made online by 2025."
