Citroen C3 Aircross makes global debut and is set to go on sale later this year

Citroen has introduced its new SUV offering in India, the Citroen C3 Aircross. The new compact SUV is a three-row SUV based on the C3 hatchback and will go on sale in the second half of 2023. The Citroen C3 Aircross has been manufactured specifically for India and will also be sold to select worldwide markets.

Powering the new C3 Aircross three-row SUV is the 1.2-litre three-cylinder, turbocharged PureTech petrol engine found in the C3 hatchback. The motor is good enough for 110PS and 190Nm of torque. In terms of transmission, the C3 will initially be available with a six-speed manual transmission. We could expect an automatic at the time of the launch.

The Citroen C3 Aircross has that similar Citroen styling flowing across. The car will be 4.3 meters long, meaning it will compete in the mid-size SUV segment. It features split headlights, similar to the C3, and a more prominent grille up front. Combine it with a minimalist front bumper with skid plates and you get a front end that resembles a small C5 Aircross.

The C3 Aircross sports round wheel arches, a longish wheelbase, and cladding right below the doors, on the wheel arches, and on the doors themselves, exactly like the other Citroen models. The C3 has a ground clearance of 200mm.

The C3 Aircross inherits the majority of the hatchback's equipment, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual air conditioning, steering-mounted audio controls, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. Multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and rear parking sensors with cameras provide passenger safety.

As a three-row vehicle, it also includes luxuries for the middle and final rows, such as roof-mounted AC vents with adjustable fan speeds. The last row also has USB charging connectors.

When launched, the C3 Aircross will face competition from well-known rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq. The C3 Aircross price will be announced in the second part of this year.
