CES 2019: Hyundai to showcase Elevate Concept

The 2019 Consumer Electronics Show aka CES is scheduled to take place from January 8 to 12, 2019 in Las Vegas. Hyundai will be using this platform to showcase a unique Elevate concept. It is unique because even though it does get four wheels, these wheels are attached to four different linkages giving a spider-like design. Hyundai has not revealed much except for this, "This vehicle combines the power of robotics and EV technology to take people where no vehicle has been before. The four-legged Hyundai 'Elevate' will redefine our perception of vehicular mobility."

Hyundai mentions that the wheels with robotic legs allow users to drive, walk or even climb over the most treacherous terrain

The Korean automobile manufacturer has released a computer rendered image but will be showcasing a working prototype at the Consumer Electric Show. From the image, it can be seen that the cabin of what looks like a medical rescue vehicle is large enough to fit a stretcher. Also, instead of conventional styled doors, the Hyundai Elevate concept gets horizontal split vertical sliding doors, which we believe is for better ingress and egress. The linkage suspensions will offer a considerably long travel that will make the Elevate travel on almost every possible terrain, even off road. Going by the images, the Hyundai Elevate will have an unconventional set of wheels and not regular tyres. Hyundai mentions that the wheels with robotic legs allow users to drive, walk or even climb over the most treacherous terrain. One will get a proper idea of this only at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show.
