BMW Motorrad launches R18, R nineT 100 Years Edition in India

BMW Motorrad has introduced the limited-run R18 100 Years Edition and R nineT 100 Years Edition models in India with a sticker price of Rs 25.90 lakh and Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. These exclusive limited-edition models arrive as a part of the firm's centenary celebrations. Notably, BMW will produce only 1,923 units each of the R18 and R nineT 100 Years Edition. Meanwhile, it has also commenced bookings for both motorcycles in the country.

BMW R18 100 Years Edition: Highlights

The exclusive R18 100 Years Edition features a Classic Chrome colour scheme that comprises a black paint job and high-gloss chrome elements, double lining in white, and a 100 Years badge. Additionally, the cruiser gets the Option 719 seat with black/oxblood tone and diamond-pattern embossing.

BMW has also bestowed the R18 100 Years Edition with a few additional features, such as a pair of Akrapovic exhausts, heated grips, a headlight pro with adaptive turning light, electronic cruise control, and reversing assistance. Powering the R18 100 Years is the 1,802cc, twin-cylinder, air/oil-cooled Boxer motor that generates 91PS at 4,750rpm and 158Nm at 3,000rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. It provides a top speed of 180kmph.

BMW R nineT 100 Years Edition: Highlights

The R nineT 100 Years Edition features a unique Classic Chrome paint job like the R18 100 Years Edition. Therefore, BMW has painted various parts on the roadster in chrome. In addition, the R nineT 100 Years Edition features a black colour and white double lines on the fuel tank along with knee pads and a 100 Years badge. BMW has given the same chrome and black treatment on the seat cowl. Also, the front wheel cover gets black paint and white double lines. Meanwhile, the seat is finished in a black and oxblood dual-tone scheme.

To further accentuate its appearance, the R nineT 100 Years Edition features various Option 719 components, such as 719 Classic wheels with black anodised rim rings, a 719 milled parts package that consists of milled cylinder head covers, engine housing covers, seat holders, and oil filler plug. Additionally, the Option 719 II milled package includes adjustable hand levers and footrests, pillion footrests, expansion tank covers, and bar-end mirrors. The special edition of the roadster gets adaptive turning light, a comfort package with heated grips, cruise control, and riding modes pro.

The R nineT 100 Years is powered by a 1,170cc boxer twin-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine that delivers 109PS at 7,250rpm and 116Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, it tops out at 200kmph.
