Benelli Leoncino 500 launched in India for Rs 4.79 lakh

Benelli Leoncino 500 has been launched in India for Rs 4.79 lakh ex-showroom India. The Leoncino is essentially a street naked motorcycle that shares its engine with the recently launched TRK502 twins. The Leoncino 500 has positioned between the TNT300 and the TRK502 for riders who plan on upgrading from the TNT300 within the Benelli family. The booking amount for the same is Rs 10,000 and the company is offering a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty as standard.

The styling includes a traditional circular headlamp, however, with modern elements such as a projector. The bike also features a metal ornament in the form of a Lion on the front fender to indicate what its the name means. he instrument cluster is all-digital and is designed in a pod style. Also, the handlebar is low and the tail section sees minimum body panels.

The power source is a 500cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled unit that churns out 47.5PS at 8,500rpm and 45Nm of torque at 5,000rpm mated to a six-speed gearbox. For the cycle parts, Leoncino 500 gets 50mm front USD (upside down forks) and an adjustable shock absorber in the rear.

The braking components include 320mm twin-disc-setup int he front and a 260mm disc in the rear with ABS (Antilock Braking system). At this price point, the Benelli Leoncino 500 rivals the Kawasaki Z650, CFMoto 650NK. The motorcycle is also is a worthy rival to the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 which has a similar power rating.
