2024 Volkswagen Tiguan teased ahead of global debut

Volkswagen has announced the production-spec 2024 Tiguan wearing camouflage. The new SUV is in the final phases of testing and will be unveiled in the coming weeks. The crossover model will be offered with a number of segment-first innovations, such as an active suspension management system and HD matrix headlamp technology. It is built on the MQB evo, a new generation of the modular transverse platform. In India, Volkswagen presently sells the second-generation vehicle.

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan: Design

VW claims that the SUV is now 32mm longer at 4,551mm and 5mm taller at 1,640mm, but it still has the same wheelbase at 2,681mm. The redesigned Tiguan's rounder form makes it appear less boxy than the existing model.

The Tiguan receives a more manly front face with a sharper grille design flanking the newly styled headlights, which can be upgraded to HD Matrix units. An LED light strip across the width of the front end, similar to newer VWs, should be present. A huge single-piece air dam beneath it adds strength to the front end. The SUV's general look is completed with slimmer LED tail lights and a restyled bumper.

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan: Powertrain

The next-generation Tiguan's powertrain lineup remains unclear, although it will have turbo diesel engines (TDI), turbocharged petrol engines (TSI), mild hybrid turbocharged petrol engines (eTSI), and plug-in hybrid systems (eHybrid).

2024 Volkswagen Tiguan: Interior and Features

The inside has been redesigned with particular client needs for easy operation in mind. It comes with a huge 15-inch touchscreen entertainment system as well as a digital driver's display. The design surrounding it, on the other hand, is unique, with a tiered dashboard splattered with gloss black plastics. The car will also include smartphone connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS and seats with massaging, ventilation and heating.

The MQB evo serves as the foundation for a new generation of adaptive suspension control with dual-valve shock absorbers. The updated model now includes a vehicle dynamics manager as standard equipment.

As mentioned, the redesigned Tiguan will be unveiled in the coming weeks and the SUV is slated to arrive in India in 2024. It will cost more than the existing model, which starts at Rs 34.7 lakh and will compete with the Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5 Aircross, and Skoda Kodiaq.
