2023 MG Hector unveiled with a whole suite of ADAS features

The new MG hector has long been promised and the SUV has finally been unveiled. The Hector was the first car from MG in India and is also available as a 3-row SUV in the Hector Plus.

The significant alteration up front is rather clear. The grille has diamond-shaped inlays and is larger than before. MG refers to it as the "Argyle-inspired Diamond mesh grille." Additionally, it sports a new front bumper with distinct headlight and fog light housings that are heavily accented in glossy black. The ADAS radar is located in the centre of the front lip with a chrome finish.

The taillights are identical at the back, though, they are now joined by angled slats that are lighted vertically, which is a nice touch. Although the bumper's design has also undergone some minor changes, the general look is still pretty close to that of the vehicle before the facelift.

The updated Hector has the same two engine choices as the current SUV: a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 143 PS (also available with a mild hybrid system) and a 2-litre diesel engine with 170 PS, possibly mated to a six-speed manual transmission. A CVT is an option for the gasoline engine as well.

Thanks to the use of soft-touch materials everywhere, the dashboard arrangement is totally new, looks more luxurious, and feels even more luxurious than it did before. The focal point of the dual-tone interior is the 14-inch portrait screen. Additionally, it has a larger portrait screen than any other car in India and more connected functions than ever before.

With this makeover, MG has increased the list of functions for the Hector by 11 Level 2 ADAS capabilities. The automated turn signals, enhanced linked car technology, infotainment-controlled sunroof, and voice-controlled ambient lighting are further new features. All other features are carried over from the previous model.

When compared to its current price, which ranges between Rs 14.72 lakh and Rs 20.65 lakh, we anticipate Hector's pricing to gradually increase.
