2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N deliveries has officially begun

Deliveries of the Mahindra Scorpio-N's first batch has begun as per Mahindra. The Mahindra Scorpio-N was introduced in June 2022 and has a base price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Beginning on July 30, reservations for the three-row SUV were accepted. The Scorpio-N is available in Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L models. Additionally, the automaker had claimed that Mahindra planned to supply 7,000 units in the first 10 days and that Z8L version deliveries would take precedence over lesser variant deliveries.

The diesel engine option in the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N is the 2.2-litre mHawk unit. This motor is available in two states of tune with lower-spec Z2 variant putting out 132PS and 300 Nm, being offered with a six-speed manual and rear-wheel-drive only. The top-spec variants of the Mahindra Scorpio-N will get this diesel in a higher 175PS tune with torque outputs increasing to 370Nm when paired with the manual and 400 Nm with the six-speed automatic. The Scorpio-N also gets a five-link rear suspension as well as frequency-selective dampers.

The petrol engine seems to be a straight lift from the one in the Mahindra XUV700. The 2.0-litre motor puts out 200PS and 370 Nm with the six-speed manual and 380 Nm with the automatic.

The interiors of the Mahindra Scorpio-N have been fully reworked, much like the outside. There's heavy use of gloss black and mild chrome highlights, along with brown and grey upholstery. The layout itself is more contemporary now with the large vertical air vents on either side of the new 8-inch infotainment screen. The steering is the new one from the XUV700 although the instrumentation is analogue with a large MID.

The Scorpio-N gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, 12-speaker Sony sound system, dual-zone climate control, connected-car tech, Alexa integration with what3words, LED lighting, wireless charging, powered driver's seat, six airbags, driver lumbar support, tumble-fold second row and a 360-degree camera. The Scorpio-N will be available in six and seven-seater options.
