2019 Volkswagen Polo and Vento facelifts launched at Rs 5.82 lakh and Rs 8.76 lakh
Volkswagen India has launched the Volkswagen Polo facelift and Volkswagen Vento facelift at Rs 5.82 lakh and Rs 8.76 lakh ex-showroom, introductory. Both cars get cosmetic updates on the outside and come with new warranty and service plans.
Notable changes are a new Polo GTi themed honeycomb grille, a more aggressive front bumper with larger trapezoidal airdams, a rocker panel on the sides and rear bumpers which house diffuser like inserts. A new GTLine cosmetic package has also been added which adds GTLine decals and bit contrast bits like in the mirrors and roof. The engine options reman unchanged.
The Polo continues with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol that makes 76PS and 95 Nm. The GT TSI gets a 1.2-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol making 104PS and 175Nm which is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The diesel option is a 1.5-litre unit that makes 90PS/230Nm in the standard versions and 109PS/250Nm in the GT TDI. A five-speed manual is avaiable with this and the base petrol motor.
The Vento gets the higher tune diesel and the turbo petrol. The base engine is a 1.6-litre petrol motor with 104PS and 153 Nm.
The features list remains unchanged except for the notable addition of the VolkswgenConnect connected car suite now being made standard upwards from the Highline Plus trim. Aside from the four year/1,00,000 km standard warranty, road-side assistance and three free services, Volkswagen is now offering an extended warranty option for up to seven years. Further, all diesel-powered Polos and Ventos get a standard five-year warranty. Further a service package for up to three years is now available as well.
The Volkswagen Polo rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz and Hyundai i20 while the Vento goes up against the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Toyota Yaris
