2018 Volvo XC60 - limited launch edition for India will be packed to the gills

Volvo is all set to launch its highly successful medium-level offering, the XC60, in the Indian market on December 12. While its size conforms to the criteria set by most mid-level offerings in the luxury crossover space, its kit is anything but that.

We have just returned from a brief drive of the India-spec XC60 and here are a list of some of the most notable features that we will see on the car when it rolls into the Volvo's Indian showrooms later this month:

Safety features and assistance systems:

Creature comforts:

These features will be a standard fit on the 'launch edition' on the Volvo XC60. Unlike some of its rivaling brands that limit the launch edition to a certain number of units, Volvo will offer the launch edition for a certain time period with no limit on how many units they can order from their European counterpart. The launch edition will be badged under Volvo's popular Inscription trim and will be available with the D5 drivetrain that consists of the 2.0l four-cylinder diesel engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox with AWD. Air suspension on all four wheels will be offered as a start fit too. Other trims and engine options could be offered at a later date, says Volvo India. Volvo assures that in spite of the long list of features, the XC60 launch edition will be priced competitively - the details of which will be revealed on December 12.
