2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift to be launched in India on April 20

With the launch of the Grand i10 facelift, it was evident that Hyundai would follow it up with the launch of the Xcent facelift. And now OVERDRIVE has learnt that Hyundai is planning to launch the facelifted version of the Xcent sedan on April 20, 2017. This one will be more of a cosmetic makeover with additional features. Hyundai dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the Xcent facelift for a token amount of Rs 11,000.

The facelifted Hyundai's front-end will feature changes from the updated Grand i10

The Hyundai Xcent facelift gets a wider, more pronounced grille compared to the previous iteration. The front and rear bumper design will be tweaked, and similar to the new Grand i10, the fog lamp will get a revised housing. In addition, LED DRLs will be offer on the top-end variants. The side profile is not expected to get a substantial update except for a revision in the alloy-wheel design. The rear profile, however, will get a major makeover, claims Hyundai. The new design will make it look larger than its present form. From the camouflaged test mules that were recently spotted, the rear looks similar to that of the Verna. This, in turn, will help make the Xcent more appealing than before.

The interior of the 2017 Hyundai Xcent will be similar to that of the Grand i10 facelift

The interior of the 2017 Hyundai Xcent will be similar to that of the Grand i10 facelift. While the overall layout is unchanged, it will feature the same 7-inch touchscreen system that comes with Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink and Android Auto connectivity options. Additionally, the infotainment system comes with navigation and an on-board memory of 1.5GB along with a reverse parking camera, a feature that will be a standard on the top-end variants.

We believe the new 1.2-litre diesel motor that has been added in the Hyundai Grand i10 facelift will make its way into the Xcent sedan as well. However, the sedan is expected to make more power than the 75PS/190Nm that the hatchback makes. This motor is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol variants of the Hyundai Xcent facelift will be powered by 83PS 1.2-litre motor. Both the motors are Euro-IV compliant.

The Hyundai Xcent facelift is expected to be priced around Rs 6.50-8.40 lakh. It will compete with the likes of the Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and the Tata Tigor.
