2016 Ford Mustang GT launched in India at Rs 65 lakh

Yes, that's the best possible news you read today. Ford India has officially pulled the wraps off its most iconic car, the Mustang. Priced at Rs 65 lakh (ex-Delhi), Ford India has brought the Mustang in its top-spec form with a 5.0-litre V8. The new Ford Mustang GT is an important car for the American automaker considering the fact that it is the first time that the company has a made a RHD version since its launch in 1964.

Earlier this year, Ford has showcased the Mustang GT in India wherein the company raked in great level of interest from both enthusiasts as well as prospective buyers. Its design inspiration dates back to the '60s when the retro classic theme was at its peak. The same can be seen on the new sixth-generation Mustang GT. The model name Mustang, which means an untamed American horse and is typically small with a light built, is truly reflected in the overall design. The rear gets the vertically placed LED strips similar  to the original classic.

While it is based on the classic muscle car, the new Mustang features some of the latest gadgetry that makes it at par with its German and American rivals. Among the list of features the Mustang comes equipped with, there is the Sync2 LCD touchscreen infotainment system, adaptive cruise control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS and EBD as well as an on-board app that monitors acceleration timing.

Coming to the most important piece of information that the enthusiasts swear on, the Ford Mustang GT that would be sold in India comes powered by a 5.0-litre V8 TiVCT motor that makes 401PS of power and 515Nm of torque and is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
