Yamaha recalls over 3 lakh Fascino 125 & Ray ZR 125 in India
India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has issued a massive voluntary recall for 3,00,000 units of its 125cc scooters, namely the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid. The units manufactured between 1 January, 2022 and 4 January, 2024 could have an issue related to the brake lever function.
Yamaha has provided a facility on its official website to the owners of the Ray ZR 125 and Fascino 125 produced during the said period to check whether their scooters are eligible for the recall. For this, the owners will have to visit the Yamaha Motor India website and then go to the 'service section' where they need to enter their vehicle's chassis number and check for eligibility. Owners with eligible for the recall will need to visit the nearest Yamaha service centre to replace the possibly faulty part.
Powering the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid and Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrod get a 125cc, single-cylinder engine with hybrid technology. This motor makes 8.02PS and 10.3Nm. The scooters come with a starter-motor generator that charges the battery, auto engine start/stop feature, silent start function, all-digital cluster with Y-Connect app connectivity, and front disc brake, among others.
