VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq become the first to gain 5 stars in Global NCAP's updated crash tests
The Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq, have received complete 5-star safety certification from the Global NCAP for both adult and child occupant protection.
The driver's and passenger's head, neck, and knees receive good protection in the front impact test results. The tibias of the driver exhibited only mediocre to sufficient protection, whereas those of the passenger showed excellent protection. Additionally, the bodyshell and footwell regions are classified as stable. The head, belly, and pelvis had excellent protection during the side impact test, while the chest received only adequate protection.
All tested models are subject to frontal and side impact protection assessments using the Global NCAP's revised crash test standards. Vehicles with the highest star ratings must additionally pass evaluations of Electronic Stability Control (ESC), pedestrian protection, and side impact pole protection.
Both of these small SUVs come standard with hill hold control, electronic stability control with ABS, and electronic braking force distribution in addition to up to six airbags, roll-over protection, ISOFIX child restraints, and three-point seat belts with adjustable headrests for every passenger. TPMS, an electronic differential lock system, multi-collision braking, brake disc cleaning, and a rear parking sensor with a camera are additional features available on these cars.
Both cars also get impact-absorbing body components and side-impact protection beams in the doors.
All Kushaq models come equipped with ESCs, and according to Global NCAP, their performance meets their standards. Additionally, the Kushaq has three-point seat belts for every passenger in the back seats, however, Global NCAP noted that there is no way to turn off the passenger airbag while installing a child seat.
