Capito, 53, joins Volkswagen from Ford US, where he headed the global performance group.

Josh is best known at Ford for the 2009 Focus RS which astonished everyone with the way it handled 304PS with front-wheel drive. Recent developments have included the Fiesta ST. His background is in motorsport â€" with Porsche and with Sauber in Formula 1 and he also has on his record a win as a co-driver in the truck category of the Paris-Dakar Raid.
