Volvo India launches new 2014 S60 at Rs 29.9 lakh and XC60 at Rs 40.5 lakh

Volvo today launched the refreshed models of its S60 sedan at Rs 29.9 lakh and XC60 crossover at Rs 40.5 lakh (all prices ex-Delhi) in India. Both models will be available only in diesel option. Volvo has discontinued the powerful 300PS T6 petrol engine in the S60. The XC60 was only available in diesel.

External changes on both the S60 and the XC60 include a wider grille, new bumper styling, leaner headlamps, LED daytime running lights, newly designed alloys and new dual exhaust pipes.

Inside, the cars get TFT instrumentation with three themes (Elegance, ECO and Performance), new sport leather seats and three-spoke steering with paddle shifters (automatic transmission). Volvo has also upgraded its City Safety feature that now works up to a speed of 50kmph. It is a laser assisted automatic braking system that pre-charges or deploys the brakes before impending situations.

There are no changes mechanically. Both cars get the 2.0-litre D4 diesel which makes 163PS and 400Nm, and the top-of-the-line 2.4-liter five-cylinder D5 diesel that is good for 215PS and 420Nm. There is no mention though of the D3 engines which were launched nearly a year back.

The S60 is available in four colour options, namely red,copper,white and blue. The XC60 on the other hand has eight options, namely black, silver (electric), blue, bronze, red, white, silver (metallic) and java.
