Volkswagen starts its pre-owned car business in India
Volkswagen India has ventured into the used car business by inaugurating their dealership in Mumbai. Called Das WeltAuto, the pre-owned car venture starts with 15 dealerships across the country with plans to expand the number to 21 by year end and 50 by late 2013. Das WeltAuto dealerships will trade in car models from all the manufacturers and will offer a warranty of 1 year/45,000kms, whichever is earlier on the powertrain and electricals. There will be no free services offered though and prior to selling, Volkswagen will undertake a 160 point checklist of the used car.
Arvind Saxena, managing director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, "We believe that every customer is important even if it is a pre-owned car buyer and we are committed towards providing our customers the same experience that of a new car."
