Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. 2all, a brand-new ID model. The car is still a concept and will be a tiny, affordable-priced hatchback for the mass market. The production version of the ID. 2all, which is now only available as a concept, will launch in Europe by 2025.

The ID. 2all is somewhat shorter than the current Polo at 4,050mm, but it has a much longer wheelbase at 2,600mm, providing much more inside room. There has a 490-litre boot as well.

The ID.2 sports a simple front design with full-width, bright LED DRLs in place of the front grille (because it is an EV, it is not required to have a complete grille like an ICE car), and matte chrome trim. The air vent is situated further down on a tidy bumper that is bordered by vertical air dams.

The ID. 2all appears to have been inspired by the Golf hatchback due to its rounded roofline, sleek body lines, and five-spoke alloy wheels. The red stripe across the tailgate at the back more closely resembles the ID family. But, a big blacked-out diffuser further down suggests a sportier GTI-like variant.

In comparison to the rear-drive ID.3, which has a 226PS e-motor, Volkswagen claims that the front-wheel-drive ID. 2all will sprint to 100 kmph in less than seven seconds. It will be connected to a battery pack with a potential range of up to 450 kilometres. These are only approximate numbers; the precise specifications might change later.

The 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen is highlighted by VW as an example of the interior's clean design.

A centre panel has a thumb wheel for infotainment control and a separate air conditioning control panel with illuminated buttons for accessing the main features. Two wireless smartphone charging stations are included, and a redesigned multifunction steering wheel with fewer functions is also available. A head-up display is added to the 10.9-inch digital cockpit screen.

According to VW, the ID 2all will be available with high-tech assistance features like Travel Assist and Park Assist, LED matrix headlights, massaging electric seats, and a panoramic sunroof, which is often only seen on more expensive versions.
