Unveiled Peugeot 2008 mini-SUV
This may just be Peugeot's answer to the crop of mini-SUVs coming up around the world, India included. First showcased at the Beijing Auto Show as the Urban Crossover Concept followed by a Paris Motor Show 2012 unveiling with a cool looking lime paint, the Peugeot 2008 mini-SUV is now production ready.
The 2008 is six-inches longer than the 208 hatchback and Peugeot says that though it will have an SUV stance, its dynamics will be similar to those of hatchbacks. Flared wheel arches over 17-inch alloys complete the urban SUV look for the 2008. Peugeot is offering a double-bubble roof as also a panoramic option, the former is said to enhance headroom for occupants.
Engine options for the 2008 include 3-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. It will be unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March followed by bookings starting from late summer in UK. Should Peugeot start their product offensive in India with the 2008? Yes please!
