TVS Star City+ launched in India at Rs 44,000
TVS Motors debuted its Star City+ at this year's Auto Expo. Almost three months later, the company today has launched the bike at a price of Rs 44,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The bike is available in electric and kick start variants.

The motorcycle plays big brother to the current Star City and is powered by a new 109.7cc EcoThrust engine. The unit is capable of producing 8.3PS of power at 5000rpm and 8.7Nm of torque at a low 5000rpm. Transmission is a four speed gearbox which can take this motorcycle from 0-60kmph in 8.1seconds. TVS claims a top speed of 90kmph and fuel efficiency of 85kmpl. TVS has tuned the motor to produce great low end torque giving this bike excellent drivability at low speeds and in-city driving. Disc brakes are not an option on this bike, rather, braking is provided with the help of 130mm drum brakes at the front and 110mm at the rear.
The chassis is a tubular single cradle frame with the suspension setup consisting of telescopic forks at the front and five step adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. The instrument cluster is made up of an analog speedometer and digital display. The bike comes with features such as adjustable shocks, alloy wheels, electric start, clear lens indicator, paper air filter, and number plate illuminator lamp. Other features include coloured shock absorber springs, chrome finished handlebar and a stainless steel muffler guard.
Overall, TVS Star City++ has a comfortable ride, good mileage and a torquey engine which should help it in getting good sales for the company. Combine this with the price and we feel that they have a winner on their hands.
