TVS Motor Company has released a quick teaser video of the upcoming TVS Apache RR 310 aka Akula before its launch in India on December 6, 2017. The teaser published on YouTube gives us the first clear glances at the TVS Apache RR 310. In addition, the video also features a tribute to the company's racing arm, TVS Racing. It celebrates this achievement with decals on the tail section that read '35 Years Of TVS Racing'. The TVS Apache RR 310 is easily the most anticipated motorcycle from India in recent times with more spy shots and videos of it than any other recent launch and we have an exhaustive image gallery of the same. The TVS Apache RR 310 is the first motorcycle to come out of the collaboration between TVS Motors and BMW Motorrad. Based on the TVS Akula concept which was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, the TVS flagship shares its mechanicals with the BMW G 310 R naked motorcycle. At launch, the Apache RR 310 will compete with the KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, and the upcoming BS IV-compliant Yamaha R3.

The 11-second video put out by TVS shows us glimpses of the Apache RR 310 design details including the tail section, the fairing, and the twin headlamps. The teaser also confirms that the motorcycle to be launched will be named the Apache RR 310 and not the Akula as reported earlier. The model showcased in the video is a glossy scarlet red with white graphics including stripes above the headlamp setup. There are vents under either lamp whose functionality is not yet known. What we know so far is that this is a BMW-developed engine and the international test rides for the motorcycles - the G 310 R and the G 310 GS - confirm a smooth, swift but not frantic engine.

The BMW G 310 R is powered by an all-new 313cc motor that makes 34PS at 9,500 rpm and generates 28Nm at 7,500rpm. The motor is paired to a 6-speed transmission. We are not expecting TVS to make dramatic changes to the feel or tune of this engine. As you know, the engine is placed 'backwards' in the frame with the intake on the front and the exhaust port facing the back of the motorcycle. The Apache RR 310 and the two BMW motorcycles are all made at the Hosur plant on a new assembly line created especially for these bikes and set to the BMW quality standard. If like us, you can't wait to see this beautiful motorcycle, here's the video to sate your curiosity for now:
