Domestic wholesales for Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) India were 12,440 units in October 2021, up 0.54 percent from 12,373 units the previous month.

Domestic sales have increased by 34 percent year over year, to 9,284 units in September 2021. Wholesales have increased by 78 percent year-to-date in 2021, to 1,06,993 units from 60,116 units.

Customer demand is satisfied by a variety of versions from the Innova Crysta portfolio, which keeps the company at the forefront of its market. The Toyota Fortuner too contributes to a majority of sales.

Toyota Vellfire is also sold by the corporation, demonstrating consumer trust in the brand. As it stands, the car is an elite SUV that ushers in a new era for the corporation. It is the firm's most expensive product in the country.

Commenting on the sales, V. Wiseline Sigamani, Associate General Manager(AGM), Sales and Strategic Marketing, TKM said, "Demand in the market has been robust in the last few months and this can be attributed to various factors besides pent up demand. Customer orders too have been on a constant rise, restoring normalcy in demand trends when compared to pre-Covid times.

Apart from the Innova Crysta, Maruti-sourced vehicles such as the Glanza and Urban Cruiser aided Toyota India's sales in October 2021. For the export market, Toyota has rebadged Ciaz as Belta and Ertiga as Rumion. When these will be added to India's roster remains to be seen.

V. Wiseline Sigamani further added, "In the month of October, we have been able to register a 34 percent growth when compared to our sales in September 2021. Our cumulative wholesales from January to October has also reported a growth of 78 percent, when compared to sales in the corresponding period last year. Our flagship models Innova Crysta & the Fortuner, continue to dominate their respective segments. The Toyota Vellfire too has been performing exceptionally well, reiterating customer's confidence in the brand. The Glanza and the Urban Cruiser are garnering good booking orders and we are working towards immediately catering to the pending orders in these segments".
