Maruti Suzuki once again takes most of the top spots for the best-selling cars in a month. April 2023 saw good growth in car sales. Let's take a look at the top 5 most sold cars in April 2023.

Hyundai Creta - 14,186 units

Hyundai's best-selling car has been the Creta SUV for a long time now and also happens to be the 5th most-sold car in the country. Hyundai India sold a total 14,186 units of the SUV in April 2023.

The Seltos and Creta are available in two petrol and one diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre Smartstream petrol engine produces 113PS and 144Nm of torque. This engine is available in six-speed manual, six-speed iMT, and IVT transmission options. The 1.4-litre Turbo-GDi petrol engine generates 138PS and 242Nm of torque. The Turbo engine is available with a six-speed manual and a 7DCT option. There's also a diesel engine in the form of a 1.5-litre CRDi VGT that generates 113PS and 250Nm of torque. This engine is available in a six-speed manual, iMT, and automatic torque converter.

The equipment list includes LED headlamps, fore and aft silver skid plates, 17-inch alloy wheels, a contrasting colour for the C-pillar, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto headlamps, powered mirrors, all-four disc brakes, ambient lighting, an integrated air purifier, Bose sound system, and smartphone connectivity. It also offers an electric parking brake with auto hold, front-row ventilated seats, a powered driver seat, and paddle shifters.

Tata Nexon - 15,002 units

Tata Motors sold just a little over 15,000 Nexon's in April  2023. That also makes the Nexon the most-sold SUV in the country.

The Tata Nexon is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates 120bhp and 170Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 115PS and 260Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT unit.

The compact SUV gets a new steering wheel featuring a smaller horn pad with premium-looking multimedia and cruise control buttons. Behind the steering wheel is a fully digital instrument cluster along with an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno - 16,180 units

The top 3 spots are all occupied by Maruti Suzuki vehicles with the Baleno in third place with 16,180 units.

The Baleno gets a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated, Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine with idle start-stop technology. This motor generates 90PS and 113Nm of torque. It comes mated to a five-speed manual or AMT automatic transmission options.

Inside, the Maruti Baleno comes equipped with a nine-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA updates, an Arkamys-sourced music system, Heads-Up Display (HUD), cruise control, rear AC vents, height-adjustable driver-seat, automatic climate control, and six airbags. Also on offer is Suzuki Connect.

Maruti Suzuki Swift - 18,573 units

The Swift has been around for quite some time now and in April 2023, Maruti Suzuki sold 18,573 units of the hatchback.

The Swift is powered by the K12 series Dual Jet Dual VVT engine with an idle start-stop function. It produces 90PS and 113Nm of torque and can be had with a five-speed manual or a five-speed automated manual.

It comes with a good list of features as well like projector headlights, LED DRLs, 15-inch precision-cut alloy wheels, a coloured 4.2-inch TFT display, cruise control, idle start-stop function, and key synchronised auto-foldable ORVMs.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR - 20,879 units

The WagonR once again tops the list of the best-selling car in the country. The brand sold well over 20,000 units of the WagonR in April 2023.

The 1.0-litre next-gen K-Series dual jet, dual VVT engine petrol engine is available in manual and CNG options. The manual version produces 67PS and 89Nm of torque, while the CNG mode generates 82.1Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre advance K-series dual jet, dual VVT engine with Idle Start Stop technology generates 90PS and 113Nm of torque.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is available in four variant options. The dashboard is highlighted by a seven-inch Smart Play Studio with smartphone navigation and 4 speakers. The standard safety feature list includes dual airbags, Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), front seat belts reminder, a high-speed alert system and rear parking sensors.
