Tata Tiago EV prices increase by Rs 20,000
Tata Motors has announced that it has increased the prices of the new Tiago EV by Rs 20,000 across all variants. With this, the prices of the electric hatchback start at Rs 8.69 lakh and go up to Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is to be noted that the carmaker launched the Tiago EV with introductory prices starting at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom), which were exclusively available to the first 20,000 bookings. Tata has already surpassed the 20,000 bookings mark, resulting in a price hike.
Tata Tiago EV: Highlights
The key highlights of the Tiago EV include projector headlights, fog lamps with integrated daytime running lights, powered ORVMs with auto-fold function, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leatherette upholstery, cruise control, re-gen modes, ZConnect' connected car features with smartwatch connectivity, an eight-speaker sound system, a car start/stop switch, tyre pressure monitoring system, a cooled glove box, and powered boot opening, among others.
Tata Tiago EV: Range, Battery pack, and Charging
The Tata Tiago EV is available with two battery pack options: a 24kWh unit and a 19.2kWh, promising a claimed driving range of 315km and 250km, respectively. Both units are paired with a single electric motor that makes 61PS/110Nm and 75PS/114Nm, respectively. The EV, with the 24kWh battery pack, can go from 0-60kmph in 5.7 seconds, while the smaller battery pack takes 6.2 seconds.
With a 7.2kW AC wall box charger, the 24kWh battery can be charged from 10-100 per cent in 3 hours and 60 minutes, whereas the 19.2kWh unit takes 2 hours and 60 minutes. Tata also offers a 3.3kW AC wall box charger that charges the battery packs in 8 hours and 70 minutes for a 24kWh unit, whereas the charging duration is rated 6 hours and 90 minutes for a 19.2kWh unit. When plugged into a DC fast charger, both batteries take a claimed 58 minutes to charge from 10 to 100 per cent.
