Tata Motors rolls out 6,00,000th unit of Nexon

The Tata Nexon has reached a significant milestone, surpassing the production of 6 lakh units since its inception. Tata Nexon surpassed 15,000 sales mark in December 2023 and was the best-selling model in the sub-compact segment. Following a major facelift, the Nexon received updates such as a fresh design, an overhauled cabin, new features, and a dual-clutch transmission for its petrol engine. Similarly, the Nexon EV facelift also received a new-gen motor, increased range, V2V and V2L capability, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system.

Introduced to the Indian market in 2017, the Nexon achieved its first production milestone of 1 lakh units in July 2019, followed by the 2 lakh unit mark in June 2020. Then, it took eight months to reach 3 lakh units and seven months to achieve 4 lakh units. Further, the production of the 5,00,000th Nexon unit was achieved in just six and a half months. The Tata Nexon is manufactured at the Ranjangaon facility in Pune, Maharashtra.

Tata Nexon Powertrain

The Nexon facelift is equipped with a 1.2-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 120PS and 170Nm of torque. In addition, it features a 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine delivering 115PS and 260Nm. Transmission options include a six-speed manual, an AMT, and a new seven-speed DCT automatic with shift-by-wire technology.

The Nexon EV facelift boasts a next-gen electric motor with new vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) features. Available in Mid range (MR) and Long range (LR) variants, it offers increased ranges of 325km and 465km, respectively. The motor, coupled with a 30.2kWh battery, produces 129PS, while the power output with a 40.5kWh unit stands at 145PS. The torque output remains consistent at 215Nm, irrespective of the battery capacity. It EV supports a 7.2kW AC Type-2 charger and a 50kW DC charger.

Tata Nexon and Nexon EV Pricing

The Nexon is priced between Rs 8.10 lakh and Rs 15.50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Nexon EV is available at prices ranging from Rs 14.74 lakh to Rs 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
