On Tuesday, Tata Motors stated that Aurangabad Mission Green Mobility has placed an order for 250 electric automobiles (AMGM). Individual consumers will receive 175 Tata Nexon EVs and 75 Tigor EVs from the company.

101 EVs were delivered in the first part of the deal, including 70 Tata Nexon EVs and 31 Tata Tigor EVs. In the next few days, the remaining vehicle deliveries will be completed as part of the second phase.

Tata Motors is presently the market leader in electric vehicles, owing to the Tata Nexon EV. In India's first 11 months of the current fiscal year, the manufacturer claims to have had an 87 percent market share in the electric car sector.

The Tata Nexon EV is not just Tata's most successful electric vehicle, but also India's best-selling electric vehicle. The electric SUV has a range of 312 kilometres on a single charge. It has a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 129 PS permanent-magnet AC motor.

The Tata Tigor EV has a four-star Global NCAP safety rating and a range of 306 kilometres on a single charge. Tigor EV is powered by a 26-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and produces 75PS of peak power and 170 Nm of peak torque. The all-electric vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 kilometres per hour in 5.7 seconds.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, "It is heartening to see members of AMGM adopt a green and clean future, not only as individual contributors but also as a community. We are honoured to be associated with AMGM and proud to join their movement, serving a purpose for the greater good. I would like to congratulate and thank AMGM for their order of 250 Tata EVs. This will set an example for other states as well. Tata Motors is constantly working towards educating and enhancing the adoption of electric mobility in India and we hope that more people join this green wave as we mobilize the nation to #EvolveToElectric."
